With 15 employees and in business for 62 years, Au Bon Marché Bernard inc. is a benchmark in the field of shop workwear. It was in 2006 that the company launched on the web and began its activities throughout Canada and the United States under the name of Bernard Workwear and Bernard the worker. Since then, the company has acquired expertise in the field of online retail and continues to expand its inventory for its customers.
In 2016, Bernard Workwear renovated its online service with a brand new website, this time made by professionals in the field. Our goal is simple, to become the best in the online sale of work clothing, safety shoes and boots and accessories for workers.
Company history
It was in 1957 that Mr. Dominique Bernard started his own sales business. From the very beginning, he achieved success as he went door to door selling and buying used clothes. Later, he incorporates the wool of the country in his business, and quietly obtains enough customers to establish himself "storefront" and continue his trade in a more stable way. While the business is booming, Mr. Bernard had to leave his place after being struck down by a heart attack.
Around the 1970s, it was his son Yves who took over the reins of the business with his mother in order to make the family business prosper. He succeeded in developing his market by adapting to the changing market over the years; used clothes no longer having the popularity of yesteryear, new clothes will replace them fairly quickly.
Since then, used clothes have been abandoned in favor of brand new clothes, work clothes and shoes have been added to the catalog of products in inventory, and the wool of the country is still among the products that have been sold commercially for all these years.
Over the following years, several changes have taken place, and among these is the entry of the third generation as successors in the family business. It was in 2009 that François joined the team in order to continue the pride of the family that is this company.
